Following a 400-year tradition of handmade Akita cedar crafts, this lunch box is made from mage-wappa (bentwood). The cedar tree wood has a natural bactericidal effect, which prevents the propagation of bacteria harmful to human health. It will prevent food poisoning and Escherichia coli O-157. Even if the rice is cold, it tastes good because the cedar lunch box retains the moisture to prevent the rice from drying out or prevents rice becoming wet due to excessive moisture in the air. It always keeps the rice appropriately moist.

Our company have 400 years history in making traditional craftwork. Akita Bendding Wappa has designated as one of traditional craft of Akita Prefecture. The reason why because of good fragrance of natural Akita cedar and beautiful curve design.
The intervals of annual rings ares finely aligned and brightly elegant wood grain. Cedar wood from Akita prefecture is very famous for hygroscopicity, fragrance, bactericidal effect which help to keep good rice two days in summer as well and prevent breeding of bacteria harmful to the human body. It is effective in preventing food poisoning and O – 157 etc.
Unlike plastic lunch boxes, our lunch box has special function that absorbs moisture when the rice has too much moisture and conversely it releases moisture when the rice has low moisture.
Morever, our cedar lunch box can adjust and keep humidity, prevents rice drying and rice sticky for best delicious rice.
With our lunch box, you can eat more deliciously and safer with same ingredients.
Our lunch boxes are hand made one by one by Japanese craftsmen. They make cedar’s grain soften by boiling in water and quickly bend it while hot. This operation needs to adjust power skillfully based on high technology and experience.
